How to find auto repair shop in Waldorf MD area

Usually if you ask 10 different people the same question you get 10 different answers. That wasn’t the case when I asked 10 people how they would go about picking a repair shop for their vehicle. The overwhelming majority said they would ask their friends and family. The rest said that they would go online to find a shop and read reviews. I was surprised to find that there really weren’t any other answers given.

So,  the first way to find a shop is pretty straightforward, so we will take you through some of your online choices that will assist you in finding the right repair shop for your needs.

Google: The frontrunner of search engines. But Google is more than a search engine. It includes mapping, store information and most importantly reviews. Google will also be adding photo tours of locations, though this is new and not widely in use currently. If you want to see what information you can find, just click here to see the Waldorf Dodge information.

Yelp: Yelp was started to help connect people with businesses. Their viewers have written over 25 million local reviews. They do not allow businesses to pay to change reviews and they don’t let businesses re-order the reviews. Yelp also posts deals from businesses, posts local events and lets Yelpers talk to each other. Click here to see the Waldorf Dodge Yelp page.

Bing: Another widely used search engine. Completely independent of Google, so search results may be different from what you see when you search using Google. The information that Bing provides on the company listings isn’t as detailed as Google, but will get you what you need to make a call. To check out Waldorf Dodge’s Bing listing, click here.

The last online resource we’ll cover is Yellow Pages.

Yellow Pages: The online replacement for the yellow pages section in the printed phone book. With so many people abandoning print it only made sense for them to publish online using the same name. It’s well organized and includes reviews. Business can buy premier listings that put them at the top of your search results. Click here for Waldorf Dodge’s Yellow Pages listing.

That pretty much covers where you can find a repair shop online. Just go to any of these resources, enter the area you want to find service in and then enter “repair shop“, “auto repair“, “oil change”, “transmission repair”, etc. We are confident that you will find many places to choose from. Of course we hope that Waldorf Dodge will be your pick from these lists. If you want to talk to one of our service advisors regarding servicing your vehicle, just give us a call at 301-843-2400 and ask for Dodge Service. Or check us out online at waldorfdodge.com. Waldorf Dodge is located on Route 301 North in Waldorf, just 15 minutes south of Washington DC.

We thought we would share with you the revealing of the 2013 Ram 1500 at the 2012 New York International Auto Show.

Reveal video from 2012 New York International Auto Show

We really like the changes and the update. The grille looks better than ever and the running boards that go from the cab to the beginning of the bed are a great idea. They have given it a lighter yet stronger frame, air suspension, an 8 speed automatic transmission and active grille shutters. These all help Ram improve the fuel economy of the Ram 1500. We are looking forward to when they start getting here in the fall…what about you? If you want more information on the 2013 Ram 1500 or don’t want to wait and would like a 2012 Ram 1500 check us out online at waldorfdodge.com. Or you can stop by and see us. Comfort and towing do go together – Ram 2500 Long Horn Laramie

Do you ever find yourself wishing that when you had to tow something a long distance that you could actually ride in comfort in a stylish vehicle that made you proud to call it your own? Seems like a lot of other people are wishing the same thing because it seems like the time for luxury trucks has come. Ford just announced the Platinum Superduty a few days ago, but did you know that Ram has had a luxury truck available for a year now? They call it the Long Horn Laramie and boy what a truck this is!

Ram 2500 Longhorn Laramie

Ram 2500 Longhorn Laramie at Waldorf Dodge

Let’s start with the guts of this thing. Ram has been known for building tough trucks for a long time. This one is no exception. The 6.7L Cummins Turbo diesels is a workhorse, it brings power and durability whether you are working or playing. The best thing about this diesel is it will tow pretty much whatever you hook it up to. 22,750 lbs of towing capacity…an average elephant weighs 2,000 pounds, so the Ram could tow 22 ELEPHANTS! I don’t know about you – but I would LOVE to see that!!

You probably already know how tough the truck is and what its capable of, so let’s get on to the good stuff, the luxury. Ram did not skimp when they put together the Long Horn Laramie package. The seating is 100% high quality leather with etching in the bolsters, giving it an authentic western look. The front seats have unique leather seatbacks that have flap-closure pockets which look like saddlebags. Each pocket is secured with silver steer-logoed, tooled-metal buckle with a magnetic clasp. The cabin is complimented by real woodgrain trim throughout.

They didn’t stop the upgrades with the seats, the instrument panel has been given the look and feel of the west, looking like hand wrought jewelry. The six liquid chrome gauge rings stand out against the taupe silver background and tooled metal Longhorn badge inside the left hand ring. The dash is trimmed in burled walnut wood grain to match the color of the interior theme. I could go on all day trying to describe how wonderful the interior is, but words just don’t do it justice. You really need to experience it for yourself.

We have Ram 2500 Longhorn Laramies in stock, so its a great time to see this tough workhorse at Waldorf Dodge. If you find yourself in Southern Maryland stop in and see us. We are located on Route 301 North in Waldorf just 15 minutes south of Washington DC.

What I thought was most interesting are the videos of REAL Ram/Dodge truck owners talking about their trucks. Check out this one:

He really tests the metal of his Ram. How about you? Do you have a good story about your truck? If you do, you should share it, maybe you will be on Ramzone.

My warranty will cover that…right?

First and foremost, everything you do affects your factory warranty. The catch is this. When you modify a part, that part and any part is causes to fail will no longer be covered under the warranty. For example, you have a 2012 Ram with a 5.7L HEMI. You have a nice Magnaflow stainless steel cat back exhaust installed as well as wheels with oversized tires. Everything goes on smooth and looks great once it’s installed. You drive down the road with the rumble of your new exhaust flowing from behind you for everyone to hear. You pull up to the next traffic light and you hear this ticking sound coming from the engine.

You take your truck to Waldorf Dodge thinking you just blew your new 383 horsepower, fire breathing beasts motor up. Every car guy walks into the dealership thinking the same thing. “How can I sweet talk the dealership into covering the repair.”
No sweet talking needed fella’s. This repair would be covered under warranty. Nothing you have done could have caused this to happen.

However, say you were riding down the road after installing your new exhaust. You smell plastic burning. You pull over and see that you’ve installed your exhaust to close to a wiring harness. It melts through the harness that powers your tail lamps and trailer hitch causing a short in the system. That would be something that your exhaust caused to fail, therefore not covered under the factory warranty.

If you are ever in doubt of what is or isn’t covered under your warranty, or which aftermarket upgrades affect your warranty, just stop in and see our service advisors or parts department, they would be more than happy to try to help. WHAT!!! A Dodge Dart with 300 HP?

That’s right, I could hardly believe it when I read it. Dodge just announced and unveiled the 2013 Dodge Dart, and now right on the heels of that announcement is the release of the information on the 2014 Dart SRT4. This little beast is going to be HOT!

The Dart SRT4 has borrowed heavily from the Alpha Romeo Guilietta platform (now that isn’t a bad thing, is it), so there is plenty of performance experience there. You can expect an upgraded version of the dual clutch six speed transmission and it seems like that is going to be paired with an all aluminum, direct injection 300 horsepower 4 cylinder engine or maybe it will be paired with a version of the 2.0 liter that is going in the lower trim level Darts, with a turbo charger added. Some of this is still up in the air, just waiting on some final design elements to come through.

What you can be sure of is that it will have scoops, spoilers, sporty paint, some great wheels, and I imagine some fun accessories too.

If you are looking for more information on the Dodge Dart, visit us online or stop by and see us. Waldorf Dodge is located on Route 301 North in Waldorf, just 15 minutes south of Washington DC.
